Real Madrid head coach Bernd Schuster says he would very much like for the Spanish club to acquire the considerable talents of Cristiano Ronaldo, but concedes a deal is unlikely to happen this summer.
The Spanish league champions have being tipped to make a world record £100million bid to purchase Ronaldo from his current club Manchester United. But Schuster admits even that massive price would probably not be enough to persuade the English giants to part company with the world’s most exciting footballer.
“I would like to have a lot of players. But I don’t think that it is possible that Cristiano Ronaldo will be with us,” Schuster said in a press conference after watching his Madrid side thump Levante 5-2. “I don’t waste time on these things. I think about who could come and not on speculation. We are going to look at what we need and then see.”
